About Armagh City Townscape Heritage

The Armagh City Townscape Heritage Scheme (TH) is a National Lottery Heritage Funded Regeneration Programme. £6.3m in funding has been secured for the Armagh City Townscape Scheme which consists of monies from ABC Council, £2m, National Lottery Heritage Fund, £1.92m and the remainder from private property owners.

This scheme will be delivered in 2 parts, running in parallel:

1. Capital works to approximately 26 properties within the following streets:

Upper English Street, Scotch Street and Barrack Street

2. Delivery of an Education and Activity Programme.

This is a 5 year scheme which started on 30 September 2017 and finishes on 30 September 2022.

The Two Clusters

The ambitious five-year scheme will conserve the built heritage of two cluster sites within the City’s Conservation Area, transforming the historic streetscape and revitalising Armagh City’s economic core.

In addition, through education activities, it will inspire and educate people about the heritage of Armagh.
